Love is in the air, and laughter is on the menu! AIC and Amsterdam Comedy Club proudly present "Berlage Valentine Comedy" - a night of love, laughter, and comedic brilliance happening on February 14th.

La Hager

This Egyptian born stand-up comedian can usually be found looking for a decent happy hour and reading the latest infectious diseases update - only in the hopes it would make her material go viral. After an entirely non lucrative career trying to save the world, she’s now going for public self-flagellation through comedy. Which is in itself a kind of humanitarian relief. Her credits include opening and closing shows for guys who have opened shows for other guys who once started out opening and closing shows for some more guys. When she's not shamelessly mocking herself through stand-up, storytelling or improv; she’s enjoying solo daytime karaoke in Tokyo, where she now lives, performs and generally looks confused.

Richard Walker

I’ve been living in Amsterdam so long I thought I was Dutch but then I looked at my pass-port and it turns out I’m British. Sorry.

 

Lara Mickoki

Lara has the charm of wind from a toddler’s behind, and a burp from its front. Living in Amsterdam, but hailing from Australia with Austrian parents, she is a bonafide human mongrel that has spelling and identity issues. It’s ok, she doesn’t bite, she only nibbles at your funny bone. She'll tackle mental health and anything to do with the butt - she’s a derrière connoisseur. That was hard to spell. See you on the dance floor! 

 

Juan Monetti

Hi, I am Juan, an Argentinean living in Haarlem. I am a storytelling enthusiast now doing standup, I have a solid script: "How I do not speak Dutch while I date my dutch teacher".

Mehdi

Mehdi, originally from Tunisia, relocated to Paris before ultimately settling in the Netherlands. He came for love, often threatening to leave after a long rainy day, but the allure of Dutch beer keeps him in place. Having been immersed in different cultures throughout his life, he enjoys reflecting on these experiences in his comedy. 

 Mehdi is the type to crack jokes in the shower and laugh at his own punchlines. He figured it was time to share this with everyone else (minus the shower part!).  

Mehdi's comedic style has garnered a variety of reviews: “so funny,” declares his mom; “superstar” is what his wife regularly calls him; and “can do better,” suggests his best friend. Even critics can't help but muster a “Hihi” in response to his comedic performances.
