SAT 05 Apr- Trips for expats: Discover Zaanse Schans - A One-Day Adventure in The Netherlands🚝📸

Dear Adventurers,

Let's discover the Netherlands together! Join Dana and a bunch of other explorers on a journey to the famous windmills in Zaanse Schans, Zaandam! The Zaanse Schans is a unique part of the Netherlands, full of monumental houses, mills, barns and workshops where people practise traditional crafts.

 

WHEN

Saturday, April 5th from 14:00 to 19:30

 

WHERE

Meet at Amsterdam Central Station - IJhal, next to Starbucks. The meeting point is marked with an orange square on the map, meet here with Dana

 

 

Tickets & AIC Card:

• WITHOUT Train ticket: 5€ (FREE with AIC CARD) in this case you need to bring your train ticket.
• 10€ if you own the AIC CARD. (Includes train ticket)
• 13€ Regular ticket (Includes train ticket)
• Tickets do not include food or drinks
  
• Tickets do not include local transport
• Tickets are not refundable 
• Tickets are NOT swappable

 

 

How does it work

 

We meet at 14:00 sharp. Don't forget that we have a train to catch!

 

Transportation: NS Train, 2nd class from Amsterdam Central to Zaandijk Zaanse Schans train station. The trip takes only 17 minutes.

 

Once arrived we will have a short walk from the train station for about 15 minutes to get to the famous park with windmills. The plan is to have a walk in the park and see the landmarks, try Dutch cheese and have a coffee at a terrace (if the weather is good).

 

Visiting the park it is free of charge but entering a windmill and visiting the museums requires a ticket (more details here: https://www.dezaanseschans.nl/en/). Therefore, this activity is optional. After finishing the visits, we all go back to the train station and go back in Amsterdam, the train will leave around 19:00.

 

This trip is limited to 20 participants.

 

Reservations will close on April 4th at 13:00.

 

AIC will need to purchase the train tickets in advance. Tickets are individual.

 

Please bring valid proof of identity with a photo (passport, identity card, or driving license) because the controller will check the correspondence between the ticket and your identification document.

 

PLEASE DO NOT USE ANY ALIAS WHEN YOU BOOK THIS TICKET!!! Check your AIC account before purchasing your reservation and make sure to use your real name.

 

We will also create a Whatsapp group so that the group can be in touch. After receiving your reservation, we will send you an invitation link to access the group.
